SMS Data Products Group Announces the Promotion of Mr. John F. Ladd to Vice President, Technical Operations

McLean, VA | January 17, 2006 -- SMS Data Products Group, Inc., a leading enterprise network services firm with 30 years of experience in the IT industry, announced today that effective immediately John Ladd will assume the role of Vice President for Technical Operations of SMS.

Mr. Ladd brings over 20 years of IT industry experience to his new role within the company, and has been with SMS for more than 6 years, serving the company as Director of Engineering and Technical Director. In his new capacity, Mr. Ladd provides complete operational oversight of the entire SMS Engineering and Technical Staff. Mr. Ladd's responsibilities include: providing technical and managerial leadership, management of resources, employee professional development, corporate technical direction and structure, and process and programmatic guidance that ensures customer satisfaction for all of SMS's IT services and solutions. He is also responsible for planning and scheduling large-scale customer requirements for all of SMS Customers and Partners.

Mr. Ladd holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), from Western New England College. Formally the Government's Lead Engineer for the Pentagon Renovation Offices Information Technology Services (ITS) Team, Mr. Ladd provided technical and managerial leadership and direction for all Information Technology Services efforts associated with the planned 12 year Pentagon Renovation affecting over 25,000 customers.
